2017 Color Trend
Are you ready? Pantone has announced its trend Color for the year 2017, Pantone 15-0343, or simply put green, or Greenery as they say. I must have picked up the yellow green vibe when I recently purchased a pair of Peridot. Egyptians called this gemstone, “gem of the sun.” Also interesting to note, some historians believe that Cleopatra’s famous emerald collection might actually have been Peridot. Today this gem is still prized for its restful yellowish green hue.
I associate this yellow-green color with spring and renewal. Spring often feels like it holds the promise of starting afresh. It is symbolic of new beginnings. In 2017, we mark the beginning of a new president in a tumultuous political environment. I like to mark new presidential administrations with optimism and this one should be no different-despite the current social remarks. When the new president is sworn in I’ll be sporting the new Pantone Green with a revitalized belief that we shall remain a country for all.
